The Sora House
Architectural Resource is pleased to invite you to experience a unique glimpse of the inner workings of a Deep Green whole house remodel with our Visible Green Home® tour of the ‘Sora House'. The home as been christened the ‘Sora House', the Japanese word for ‘Sky’, reflecting the manner in which the home has been radically redesigned to open up to the exterior views, balanced with the serene and tranquil quality of the design.
This project is registered with the USGBC LEED for Homes program with the goal of Platinum level certification. Making this Michigan’s fourth such private sector residential remodeling project achieving the highest level of Green certification possible. Architectural Resource was also responsible for Michigan’s 1st, 2nd, and 3rd such projects! We are introducing several cutting edge Green technologies in this home addressing energy use, water use, and indoor environmental quality amongst others to make this a super high performance home. The United States Green Building Council's (USGBC) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified homes are designed, built, and third party verified to be Green. Following a rigorous approach your home will be efficient, durable, and provide a healthy interior environment using safe building materials and clean indoor air. A LEED home will use less energy and consume less resources, including water, than a typical code built home. Certified homes are also showing a higher resale value and selling quicker than non-certified homes. LEED is the future. You are welcome to come and tour this special project in person with highly informative, guided, group tours. Each tour will be hosted personally by both the architect and the builder. The tour will take you through the home for an in-depth presentation of the design and building approaches that make this a Deep Green home. Come be inspired! |
